Protip: Make GMail aliases
Ever wanted to sign up to multiple twitter accounts using the same email address? Or give out a slightly different email address for every site/service you sign up for so that if you get spammed, you can send all email from that site to the trash?
Fear no more!
There’s 2 ways you could do this - run a catch all on your domain name, so anything sent to *@domain.com goes to youremail@gmail.com, or
You can use the +syntax on your username and be able to send emails to youremail+service@gmail.com and have it hit youremail@gmail.com.
You can then create a filter on email sent “to” the email alias to make it go anywhere other than your inbox - whether it be to the trash, or to apply a filter (and maybe even skip the inbox!).
And no, you don’t have to create the alias in GMail before using it - just email away..
So next time you need to fill out a form, just type (or write) yourname+formname@gmail.com and have all of your email sorted for you by rules!
